HIGHLANDS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

My children were so excited to get to the hands on activities that some may have missed out on the overall lesson. We did talk about it when we got back to school, and they understood, so I would have a conversation with my future students about that. Also, I was super excited to hear them talk about the utility poles and the transformers that they noticed on the bus ride home. One student said, “I have always seen those boxes but never knew what they were!” They had a smile on their face now that they could tell others what it was.

As an adult group of internal ComEd employees trying to familiarize ourselves with the offerings at the Smart Energy Hub, we were not the typical youth group. Our tour host was great.

Students were exposed to a career opportunity most had not previously considered. Additionally, many were stunned at how much they could potentially earn in a career such as this. Many of the ideas and concepts for the future were exciting to some of the students. All of the students stated that they enjoyed their learning experience and that the information was presented in a fun and interesting way. Thank you for a great day of learning.
